BMW 7-Series Getting Diesel in US

BMW 7-Series Getting Diesel in US
The F01 7-Series is that car that remade BMW’s image into what it should have been, an evolution from the luxury models of two generations ago, not the strange design we had become accommodated to. Starting this summer, the 7er will become available as a LCI facelift with slight improvements to the design and revised engines.

The US market will also get this update, but that’s not the end of the story. According to Car and Driver magazine, the 7-Series will become available with diesel engines in the US starting next year.

We are talking about 3-liter six-cylinder diesel for the 735d or the 740d, most likely the latter due to the higher output that better fits the prestigious brand. However, the new tri-turbo introduced to the 5-Series, X5 and X6 won’t be made available in the US, even though it has been installed on the 7-Series.
