Honda Recovering in May US Sales Figures
American Honda has show that it has somewhat recovered from last year’s natural disasters that struck production in both Japan and Thailand. The company today reported that for the month of May 2013, US sales were increased 47.6 perncet overall to 133,997 units.

The Honda Division of the company sold f 119,411 units, an increase of 46.0 percent compared to May 2011. Acura’s meanwhile, saw 14,586 units delivered, up 62.1 percent compared to May 2011.

Sales of the Civic were up 80 percent on the same month last year, while for the CR-V demand grew almost five times from 5,226 last year to 25,186 in May 2012.

"With our best May sales performance since before the financial crisis it’s obvious Honda’s return to strength is in full swing,, and our May sales are impressive irrespective of last year’s production supply problems,” said John Mendel, American Honda executive vice president of sales. “Any time Honda Civic sales surpass 33,000 units in a month, it shows real demand in the marketplace."

Meanwhile, in the Acura camp, the RDX had its best results ever with 3,301 units delivered, an increase of 216,8 percent over last year.

“With the new RDX setting an all-time sales record this month, Acura went well beyond recovering from last year’s supply issues,” said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. “Now, with the new ILX reaching dealerships across America, Acura is just beginning a great new hot streak.
