Hyundai to Build i10 in Turkey
Hyundai’s i10 supermini is a reasonably attractive offering from the South Korean automaker, but it seems that its sales in Europe are not what the automaker expected. The model is currently their fourth model in terms of sales there, and Hyundai hopes that by building it in Turkey instead of India its figures will improve.

According to Automotive News Europe, Hyundai will build the i10 in Turkey alongside the i20 subcompact by the end of 2013. This will mean that production at the Izmit factory, which is a joint venture with Kibar Holding, will be boosted to 200,000.

The increase in production will translate into 750 new jobs at the Izmit plant and a further 1,500 with parts suppliers.

“Our success is down to the fact that we develop and manufacture cars in Europe that Europeans want to drive," said Alllan Rushforth, Hyundai Motor Europe CEO.
